The current scenario of higher education in India needs substantial improvement. Every year, thousands of fresh graduates are produced and are consequently being exposed to a fierce competition to grab employment. Besides, traditional pedagogy with a focus on rote learning creating a lack of analytical and critical thinking, appropriate skills to be readily absorbed by the industry and above all life skills, has further aggravated the problem. We, at SMS Lucknow, are passionate about solving this growing problem of employability gap and providing ample opportunities to our students to develop themselves holistically and also to become industry ready professionals and responsible citizens of tomorrow. We believe in training our students enough to face challenges at work and in life.SMS has rapidly grown from a newcomer, in technology and management education, to a noted name in Uttar Pradesh, today, ten years since its foundation was laid, back in 2008.
We take pride in being the youngest and the only institution to have received a A+ grade from NAAC amongst engineering and management institutions in the state. Our strong emphasis on providing skill based education has made us the first and the only institute in Lucknow, to provide a B.Voc. (Bachelor of Vocation) course in Software Development. Our alumni are now working at top positions in corporate organizations spanning the entire globe.
We have developed a strong alumni network to further assist them in their careers and to create opportunities for alumni to interact with and advise current students on career opportunities available. Our core strength lies in a collaborative work culture that we have consistently maintained over the past ten years. CAMPUS
SMS Lucknow is the epitome of one of the finest architectures, with a sprawling lush-green campus spreading over an area of around 16 acres. It is situated at the 19th Kilometers stone of Lucknow-Sultanpur Highway (NH 56). The Institute is equipped with all modern amenities that are comparable to one of the best Technical and management Institutions of the country. The calm and hassle-free atmosphere of the campus not only provides a fine learning ambiance but also creates an opportunity to develop organic linkages with the corporate world. From all angles, SMS campus is an architectural marvel in itself.
CONFERENCE HALL
Conference halls are the best environments for making decisions and having important discussions. A traditional conference room is an important space for the growth of an organization. The Institute has 2 fully air-conditioned conference halls, well equipped with modern amenities and which can accommodate at least 160 Plus people at a time. It is aesthetically decorated and acoustically designed with all the modern audio-visual gadgets which include LCD Projector, Computer, Sony DVD System and Dennon CD Players. It is a room outfitted with the newest video conferencing and presentation technology that is money and time saving and has been extremely useful for national/ international meetings. It has one of the best sound solutions, provided by Bose Corporation, USA. Moreover, to add more to the listening pleasure of the audience, it has world’s best Shure micro phone system.
MULTI PURPOSE HALL
The Institute has a large and spacious multipurpose Hall, with all the electronic equipments and other training aids essential for the high-profile academic and business events. It has an utmost seating capacity of 300. An important feature of this Hall is the state-of-art acoustic system of Bose Corporation U.S.A. This hall is also used for National/ International Seminars and various events like the conduct of Aagman (Fresher's function), Alvida (Farewell), Orientation Program, Hobby Club Activities.
CLASS ROOMS
Classroom plays a great role in the development of a student. To create a positive learning environment and improve classroom efficiency, it is important to have a well-organized classroom. The Institute has spacious classrooms with all modern teaching aids including connectivity through LAN for network access. The seating contours are specially design for comfort which is necessary for concentrated studies many of the classroom are equipped with ICT tools like LCD, Projector, PC, camera etc. Three of the classroom are equipped with interactive smart boards for improved teaching-learning outcomes.
HOSTELS
Hospitality starts at home’. Realizing this factor, SMS Lucknow, has provided a comfortable and well-furnished hostel accommodation both for boys and girls. The boys hostel is in the campus. The hostel rooms have been given a homely touch. These hostels have library and reading room facilities. Besides that, indoor games and other recreation facilities are also available in the premises.
CAFETERIAS
Cafeterias are favourite hangouts for students. We have separate cafe area providing quality snacks and food items from dawn to dusk. It is a throbbing place for the students and visitors serving a delicious meals with seating capacity of 100 at a time.
MESS
Students are provided with quality, hygienic and enticing food. There is proper nutritional chart of a balanced diet on variety basis to give them full nutritional support too.
SPORTS GROUND
The Institute has a large sports ground for various outdoor games and also has facility for Indoor games and other activities. SMS organizes annual sports meet for all the streams every year as SPARDHA and conducts games like Volleyball, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Table tennis etc.
GYM
Physical fitness is as much essential part of our life as our mental health. Keeping this in mind, the Institute has a Gym facility with all fitness equipments.
About SMS
Sensing the ever-growing need for competent and highly trained professionals endowed with rich business acumen, skills and aptitude to operate in the highly complex and fast-changing economic and industrial environment, the SMS Society, a philanthropic social organization, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, established an autonomous nonprofit educational center, School of Management Sciences (SMS), in Varanasi in the year 1995 avowed with a mission of imparting highly innovative management, computer and other technical education in the eastern part of India, which happened to be the need of the hour keeping in pace with the country's economy heading fast towards globalization.Aware of its mission of producing highly competent Management and Technology graduates, the SMS Society established another center of excellence at Lucknow in the year 2008. School of Management Sciences, Lucknow has received A+ grade accreditation from NAAC - National Assessment and Accreditation Council (An Autonomous Institution of the University Grants Commission) Ministry of HRD Govt. of India in a very short span of 15 years. SMS Lucknow has also been awarded the prestigious ISO. 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems certification by UAF (United Accrediation Foundation). The ISO 9001:2015 certification means that the quality of the Institute's processes and standards are on par with International management systems. It also means that SMS Lucknow has instituted quality assurance methods in teaching, research and support services, and have built procedures for its maintenance.SMS lucknow currently offers the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programme and Masters in Bussiness Administration (MBA) approved by AICTE and affiliated to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Techincal University, SMS Lucknow has added the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and Bachelor of Commerce (Hons), Bachelor of Science (BSc)-Maths & B.Voc, affiliated to Lucknow University and Diploma in Engineering Programs (Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science and Electrical ) affiliated to Board of Technical Education have been added.SMS Lucknow also is recognised under section 2(f) & 12(B) of UGC Act of 1956.
