SMS is
running CISCO Networking Academy since September 2018. CISCO Networking Program
on Routing and Switching is delivered through the SMS CISCO academy. The
program curriculum is divided in to three modules, enabling students to attain
the privileged CCNA Certification and Training.
Today
every organization depends in the manpower that is trained to designed, create
and operate the digital networks. Analysts are expecting from Information and
Communications Technology (ICT) sector to create increasing number of high
skilled demanding jobs in the industries. More than twice as many as there are
peoples on earth network connections exists. Learning about the network will
secure your career in ICT and in other industries. Since more than 90% of jobs
in near future will need Information and Communication Technology(ICT). You
might catch the entrepreneurial spirit and start your own network-based
company. Networking skills are in high demand. It means lots of opportunities
are there. Some of them are as follows ---
A.
Network-driven smart grids are greening the power industry.
B. Video
- Conferencing . systems are making business trips obsolete.
C. Global
Organisation are running their business on networks from manufacturing to
the Sale and also up to end users.
D. Non
profit organisations working to solve social problems world wide ,
using networks to bring out positive changes .
E. Are
you ready with CLOUD COMPUTING .
F. Institutions ,
universities . small business , cafeteria , stores even home are
using networks for productive outcomes.
The CCNA
Routing and Switching curriculum will prepare the students to take the Cisco
CCENT certification exam after completing a set of two courses or the CCNA
Routing and Switching certification exam after completing a set of three
courses. The curriculum also helps students develop workforce readiness skills
and builds a foundation for success in networking-related careers and degree
programs.
CCNA
Routing and Switching includes the following features:
Students
learn the basics of routing, switching and advanced technologies to prepare for
the Cisco CCENT and CCNA certification exams, networking related programs and
entry-level networking careers.
The
language used to describe networking concepts is designed to be easily
understood by learners at all levels and embedded interactive activities help
reinforce comprehension.
Courses
emphasize critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration and the practical
application of skills.
Multimedia
learning tools like videos, games, and quizzes, address a variety of learning
styles and help stimulate learning and promote increased knowledge retention.
Hands-on
labs and Cisco Packet Tracer simulation-based learning activities help students
develop critical thinking and complex problem solving skills.
Embedded
assessments provide immediate feedback to support the evaluation of knowledge
and acquired skills.
Cisco
certifications are very much regarded in the networking industry. In this
certification the course you will study using an online virtual learning
environment given by Cisco and create practical knowledge using real networking
equipment and simulator. The classes are essential for gaining a full
understanding of how to configure network equipment. It is expected to
configure routers and switches as part of the practical activities carried out
at the labs. The activities will be carried out in groups.
Module 1
introduces the architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of
the internet and other computer networks. The principles and structure of IP
addressing and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations are
introduced to provide a foundation for the curriculum . Build simple LANs,
perform basic configurations for routers and switches, and implement IPv4 and
IPv6 addressing schemes . Configure routers, switches, and end devices to
provide access to local and remote network resources and to enable end-to-end
connectivity between remote devices. Configure and troubleshoot connectivity a
small network using security best practices . Develop critical thinking
and problem-solving skills using Cisco Packet Tracer. By the end of this part,
you will be able to build simple LANs, perform basic configurations for routers
and switches, and implement IP addressing schemes.
Module 2 describes the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switching technologies in a small to medium networks including wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security concepts. You will work with routers, switches and wireless devices to configure and troubleshoot VLANs, Wireless LANs and Inter-VLAN routing , configure and troubleshoot redundancy on a switched network using STP and EtherChannel . You will be explain how to support available and reliable networks using dynamic addressing and first-hop redundancy protocols. Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer . By the end of this part, you will be able to configure and troubleshoot routers and switches and resolve common issues with RIP single-area and multi-area OSPF, virtual LANs, and inter-VLAN routing in both IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
Module 3
describes the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switches
in a larger and more complex network. You will learn how to configure routers
and switches for advanced functionality using OSPF in point-to-point and
multiaccess networks .Mitigate threats and enhance network security using
access control lists and security best practices . Develop critical thinking
and problem-solving skills using equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer. Understand
virtualization, SDN, and how APIs and configuration management tools enable
network automation . It will also cover smooth operation of network
infrastructures . By the end of this part, you will be able to configure and
troubleshoot routers and switches and resolve common issues with OSPF, EIGRP, STP,
and VTP in both IPv4 and IPv6 networks. This final course in the CCNA series
describes the architectures and considerations related to designing, securing,
operating, and troubleshooting enterprise networks. Course also covers wide
area network (WAN) technologies and quality of service (QoS) mechanisms used
for secure remote access along with the introduction of software-defined
networking, virtualization, and automation concepts that support the
digitalization of networks . You will also develop the knowledge and skills
needed to implement DHCP and DNS operations in a network.
The Cisco
CCNA Routing and Switching curriculum is designed for Cisco Networking Academy
students who are seeking entry-level jobs in the ICT industry or hope to fulfil
prerequisites to pursue more specialized ICT skills. CCNA Routing and Switching
provides an integrated and comprehensive coverage of networking topics from
fundamentals to advanced applications and services, while providing
opportunities for hands-on practical experience and career skills development.
