On the first death
anniversary of Late Shri Satish Kumar Singh Ji, the founder of SMS Group of
Institutions, a floral tribute ceremony was organized in a deeply reverent and
emotional atmosphere.
On this occasion, the academic, non-academic, senior officials, and students of the institution gathered to pay their heartfelt tributes to the late Satish Kumar Singh Ji and reflect upon his remarkable personality. The speakers shared that he was not just a skilled administrator but also a visionary thinker, a scientist, and a person with profound spiritual insights. Having retired as the Joint Commissioner from the Food & Civil Supply Department, he had a distinguished career and made significant contributions to society. In 1995, when there were only a few institutions offering higher education in the region, it was through the relentless efforts and inspiration of Late Shri Satish Kumar Singh Ji that the School of Management Sciences (SMS), Varanasi campus was established, with the goal of providing accessible higher education to students. Later, in 2008, the Lucknow campus was also founded. The Centre for Spiritualism and Human Enrichment, established in 2002 at the Varanasi campus of SMS Group, and the Sir C.V. Raman Research Center along with Vedic Science Center at the Lucknow campus are living examples of his visionary thinking and commitment to knowledge, which continue to inspire students and society today.
On the occasion of the death anniversary, to promote environmental
conservation and health awareness, herbal and medicinal plants were planted
within the institution’s campus. During the tree plantation ceremony, the
institution's Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Shri Sharad Singh Ji,
recalled the founder’s commitment to environmental conservation and reaffirmed
the institution’s dedication to preserving the environment, as per the
founder’s vision.
Additionally, a large Bhandara was organized in the institution's
premises, in which a significant number of people participated.
During the event, Dr. Bharat Raj Singh, Director-General (Technical) of
SMS Lucknow, officially released a book titled "Super Brain: Yoga
and Meditation", dedicated to the late Shri Satish Kumar
Singh Ji. This book presents significant aspects of mental empowerment through
yoga and meditation, and its role in establishing balance in life.
The event was attended by Director-Dr. Ashish Bhatnagar, Director-General (Technical)- Dr. Bharat Raj Singh, Director (Administration)- Dr. Jagdish Singh, Associate Director-Dr. Dharmendra Singh, Dean-Dr. P.K. Singh, Registrar-Shri Shesh Narayan Shukla, and Chief General Manager-Shri Surendra Kumar Srivastava, along with all the HODs, academic, and non-academic staff, who offered flowers and paid their respects to the late Shri Satish Kumar Singh Ji.

The School of
Management Sciences, Lucknow successfully organized its six-day annual fest SMSOTSAV’26 from 16 February to 21 February 2026, bringing together
enthusiasm, talent, creativity, sportsmanship, and cultural vibrancy on one
common platform. The fest witnessed active participation from students of
around 20 technical and management institutions from districts including Lucknow, Barabanki, and Varanasi, making
it a grand celebration of youth, talent, and togetherness.
A very first segment of the fest was the sports competitions, which were
conducted from 16 February to 18 February
2026. Students from various colleges participated with great zeal in
different sporting events like Cricket, Football Volleyball, Basket Ball, Tug
of War , Riley etc. In the final results, BBD College, Lucknow secured first position in
Cricket, Amity College won first
place in Football, and SMS
Varanasi emerged victorious in Volleyball. The prize distribution ceremony for the sports
competitions was graced
by Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for
Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Girish Chandra
Yadav. He distributed
prizes to the winners and congratulated them for their achievements.
As the fest progressed,
SMSOTSAV’26 also unfolded as a lively celebration of culture and creativity. The fifth evening featured a wide range of technical and cultural performances, including solo singing, group singing, dance performances,
mimicry, stand-up comedy, mono acts, and a fashion show.
The prize
distribution ceremony for various competitions of SMSOTSAV’26 was also
held during the cultural celebrations. The event was graced by Dr. G.K. Goswami, IPS, Founding Director, Uttar
Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science, Lucknow, as the Chief
Guest. On this occasion, Dr. Chandra
Mauli Dwivedi, Hon’ble Member of the Governing Council, SMS Group of
Institutions, and Mr. Sharad
Singh, CEO and Secretary, SMS Lucknow, also graced the event and
distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions.
The grand finale began with a powerful curtain-raiser performance by MTV Hustle fame rap artist Panther. His performance of the popular song “UP Wale” created an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm across the venue.
The excitement reached even greater heights with the
arrival of Punjabi music icon Parmish
Verma, who delivered a power-packed performance filled with chart-topping
hits and unmatched stage energy.
The event stood as
a testimony to the institution’s vision of offering a common platform where
students from diverse institutions can come together to learn, compete,
perform, and grow.

The
77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic
fervor at the School of Management
Sciences (SMS), Lucknow. The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag at the
campus, symbolizing the pride, unity, and democratic ideals of the nation. The
ceremony was conducted in the presence of the entire leadership team, faculty
members, students and staff of SMS Lucknow. Following the flag hoisting, all
members present collectively took a solemn
oath to uphold and respect the Constitution of India, reaffirming
their dedication to the principles of unity,
integrity, equality, and national pride.
A
significant highlight of the celebration was the official release of the
logo of the Alumni Association, SMS
Lucknow. The logo was unveiled in the presence of several esteemed alumni, symbolizing the
growing network and continued engagement of former students with their alma
mater.
Adding
to the spirit of celebration, and with the inspiration and unwavering support of Mr. Sharad Singh,CEO and
Secretary, SMS Lucknow, a friendly
cricket match between the SMS
Faculty Members and the SMS
Alumni Association was organized. Mr. Yash Sengar, President of the La Fiducie Foundation graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor and presented the trophies to the Winning and Runner-Up teams.
During his address, Mr. Yash congratulated both teams and appreciated the true spirit of sportsmanship displayed
on the field.
The
day was truly filled with patriotism,
fun, reunion, celebration, and high energy, reinforcing the strong and
lasting connection between SMS Lucknow
and its alumni community.
The
event successfully highlighted the institution’s commitment to national values, alumni engagement, and
community bonding, making the 77th
Republic Day celebration at SMS Lucknow both meaningful and memorable.

The
School of Management Sciences (SMS), Lucknow successfully organized the Principals’
Conclave–2026 on the theme “Mental Health and Well-being of Students and
Educators: Creating a Supportive Ecosystem.”
The
event witnessed an overwhelming participation of more than 200 Principals
from Lucknow and adjoining districts, reflecting the collective commitment
of educational institutions toward addressing mental health issues in the
education sector.
Dr.
Rajeshwar Singh, MLA, Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow,
graced the occasion as the Session Chair and Keynote Speaker. In his
address, he emphasized that mental health is equally important as physical
health and has become one of the most pressing challenges of modern
society. He highlighted that academic pressure, digital exposure, and social
expectations are increasingly impacting the mental well-being of students and
educators alike.
The
Chief Guest, Shri Jai Shankar Mishra, IAS (Retd.), Chancellor of Sushant
University, Gurugram, expressed deep concern over the rapid rise in
mental health challenges among students.
The
Guest of Honour, Dr. Dharmendra Singh, Director (Orthopedics), Medanta
Hospital, Lucknow, addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance
of holistic health among learners.
Shri
Sharad Singh, Secretary & CEO, SMS Lucknow, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to creating a
supportive and stress-free academic environment. He shared that SMS Lucknow
continuously organizes workshops, seminars, interactive sessions, counseling
programs, and competitions aimed at reducing academic and teaching-related
stress. These initiatives are designed to help students and educators maintain
emotional balance, develop positive mindsets, and foster a culture of empathy
and mutual support within the campus.
The Principals’ Conclave–2026 proved to be a meaningful and impactful initiative, reinforcing the importance of collective action in creating a healthy, supportive, and inclusive educational ecosystem for future generations.
