The School of Management Sciences (SMS), Lucknow, successfully organized a Model Parliament SMS SANSAD’24 on “Impact of Pollution on Quality of Life and the Role of Sustainable Development in Mitigating It.” The event brought together students, faculty members, and experts for a dynamic simulation of parliamentary proceedings focused on addressing environmental challenges. The program commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Ashish Bhatnagar, Director of SMS Lucknow, who emphasized the urgent need for proactive environmental policies. SMS SANSAD’24 witnessed 20 teams from
Lucknow and outside where participants represented various parliamentary roles,
including Prime Minister, Opposition Leader, and Members of Parliament
representing various states of India. They debated critical issues such as air
and water pollution, waste management, renewable energy adoption, and
sustainable urban development. Policy proposals aimed at balancing economic
growth with environmental conservation were thoroughly discussed.

The Parents-Teachers Meeting (PTM) was conducted by Humanities and Applied Sciences on 23 November 2024 to discuss about student’s academic progress, behavioural development, extracurricular activities and to identify strategies for improvement. More than 150 parents/ guardians attended the meeting. 135 Parents in person and 20 parents virtually attended the meeting. The session aimed to foster communication and strengthen the partnership for the overall development of students by the enhance collaboration between parents and teachers. During this session the faculties had addressed the areas where students can improve, highlight their achievements and discuss how parents can support their children more effectively at home.
The meeting was productive and successful in fostering a constructive dialogue between parents and teachers. Both parties expressed a commitment to working together for the holistic development of students.

SMS Lucknow organized an Annual
Alumni Meet on 9.11.2024. The program started with lighting of the lamp.
165 alumni of the institute participated in this
program who are currently serving in companies like HCL, Berger Paints, HDB
Finance Services, Infosys, Godrej, Tata Consultancy Services, Hexaware, ITC,
Wipro, PepsiCo, Zomato, Bandhan Bank, Piramal, ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra,
Anchor Panasonic, Acme Technologies, NTT Data, Accenture etc.
A cultural program was also organized by the current
students for all the alumni in which everyone participated enthusiastically and
showcased their talents on the stage. After
that, each alumni came on the stage and expressed the experience and moments
spent in the institute and learning from and told how those experiences are
useful in their professional life. They also thanked their teachers.
On this occasion, the Secretary and CEO, SMS Lucknow, Mr. Sharad Singh, along with the officials of the Lucknow chapter of the Alumni Cell, inaugurated the new website of the institute made for the alumni. Mr. Singh said that through this new website, all the alumni will now be able to stay in touch with the Institute and each other a little more. Along with wishing everyone a bright future, he appealed to stay in touch with the institute as much as possible and benefit the current students with their experiences and help them start a new career. Mr. Singh honored all the alumni by presenting them memento on the stage.

A leadership talk on "Recent
Development in Technology and Talent Need of the Industry" was organized
at School of Management Sciences, Lucknow today on 9th November 2024. Mr.
Shashi Bhargava, Executive Vice President and Head – Intelligent Automation
Products, Datamatics Global Services Ltd., Mumbai participated in this talk as
a keynote speaker. While sharing his experiences, Shri Bhargava told the
students, teachers and staff present in the program that the continuous
development of technology in the last 10 years has completely changed the
world. India is continuously striving towards moving from developing to developed
Nation. In present situation the importance of new technology and Artificial Intelligence
is increasing rapidly. New employment opportunities are increasing in this domain.
He also said that usefulness of CHAT-GPT, AI Assistant, Copilot like AI tools are increasing day by day. While
discussing the research being done on Prompt Engineering and LLM, he motivated
all to do more research in this direction. He concluded with the note that all-round development of the country can
happen only when the students studying in higher education gain proficiency in
their respective fields through hard work.
At end, Secretary and CEO, SMS Lucknow, Shri Sharad Singh said that the coming of professionals from the sustainable industry to the institute and making the students aware of new technologies is an effort towards making the student, a best professionals.

A CXOs Conclave was organized at SMS,
Lucknow campus on 26.10.2024. Dr. Chandra Mauli Dwivedi, Group CHRO and Director,

importance to develop the country exponentially. He also said innovative
approach, honesty and Team work , these skills are the basic need for future leaders on which everyone should work
continuously. Mr. Ravendra Mishra ji also added that in current scenario organizations
are continuously working on innovation of new processes for productive outcome
therefore innovative approach is good for new as well as for existing
organization alike. Mr. Aditya Sareen, said that the Integrity towards work, team
and organization plays an important role to be a future leader, So a student
must work and develop these intrinsic skills. Ms. Swati Dogra emphasized on
inclusivity of leadership.Mr. Pramod Kumar Tripathi discussed on inspiring ideas for

SMS Lucknow organized a grand freshers party 'AAGMAN -
2024 ' to welcome the newcomers in college on 19th October, 2023 of Btech.
Program. The crowd went crazy and enjoyed the event to the fullest.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp
followed by a welcome song and performances by students on western dance,
songs, fusion dance and skit which was followed by the first
introductory round of the participants to the ‘Mr and Miss Fresher’ contest.

An Induction Program for Btech. First Year was conducted from 9th
September 2024 at SMS Lucknow as per AICTE Norms. The two weeks long program
comprised of several activities including Guest Lectures , Yoga Sessions , Workshop on Self Defence and Rangoli making competition etc.
A motivational session for Btech First Year students was delivered by a Mr. Ajay Kumar Pandey , retired Joint
Secretary (General Administration) , Uttar
Pradesh Secretariat.
During the induction program various AASAN of Yoga was demonstrated
to students and advised them to include all such AASAN in their daily practice
to manage the stress and remain healthy.
Self defence workshop was also conducted to share tips
and tricks to defend themselves if required at any point of time.
A seed related to start ups and Entrepreneurship was planted
among the students by conducting a lecture on Entrepreneurship. In this lecture
the start ups insight , do’s , don’t’s along with how to prepare roadmap for Entrepreneurship was also discussed .

It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that SMS Lucknow organized a two-day All India Seminar on "Sources of Planet Energy, Environmental and Disaster Science: Climate Justice and Equity" Speeds-2024 in association with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, The Institution of Engineers (India) U.P. State Centre and CST, U.P., Department of Science & Technology from 29th -30th June, 2024 at SMS Lucknow campus with an aim of Advancing Climate Justice for a sustainable future.
Scientists and environmentalists participated in the seminar and discussed the availability of alternative resources of energy for the common man in future.
On the first day of the seminar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, Lucknow, Prof Sanjay Singh, Chief Guest,deliberated that there is an increasing awareness of the dire impacts of climate change, but a yawning gap between what we are collectively doing and what we know needs to be done.
Er. Satya Prakash, Chairman, The Institute of Engineers (India) UP State Lucknow and Dr. CM Nautiyal, former Consultant Indian National Science Academy was also present in Inaugural session.
The seminar also witnessed the unveiling of Souvenir of SPEEDS-2024. Out of 114 research papers, 69 papers were selected for the souvenir.
On the second day of the seminar, a Valedictory session was organized in which Prof Jagbir Singh, Director, College of Architecture, Amity University, Lucknow, was present as Chief Guest and said in his address that due to the continuous consumption of natural gas and petroleum, the threat to their stocks is increasing. Most countries of the world are eager to work on nuclear energy. As a result, the temperature of the earth is increasing day by day and it is a matter of serious concern.

National Service Scheme (NSS) wing of SMS Lucknow organized a One Day Program on Voter Education Awareness Campaign to educate first time voters about the importance of voting, on 14th May, 2024 at SMS Lucknow.
In this event Mr Anoop Gupta, Mission Leader (Founder) I Care India, passionately emphasized the significance of elections as a national festival, urging all students to actively participate and contribute to the nation-building process.
He emphasized the importance of active participation in the democratic process and urged all eligible students to exercise their right to vote wisely.
A rally as a part of Voter Education Awareness Campaign was organized to educate the students regarding the importance of voting through the means of slogans. Rally was successfully marched by the students, faculty members and other staff with great enthusiasm.

Colleges like BBDU, BBAU, LU, LPCPS, JNPG (KKC), NPG and other reputed institutes have participated in the event.
Key Highlights:
Cultural Competitions: Participants showcased their talents in dance, music, drama, and Fashion Runway. The stage was lit up with electrifying performances.
Sports Events: Enthusiastic athletes competed fiercely in a variety of sports events like Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Cricket, 100M Race and Chess. Fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition.
Academic Contests: Intellectual prowess was put to the test in academic competitions such as Debates, Just a Minute, Poetry and Story Writing. Participants engaged in stimulating discussions and exchanged knowledge on diverse topics.
Prize Distribution: On the last day after all the activity got concluded Prize distribution ceremony was conducted. Director, SMS Lucknow along with various dignitaries gave the prize to Students for their excelling performances.
DJ Night: On the last day of Spectrum 2K24 i.e. on 27 April 2024 a Spectacular DJ Night was Organised in which People grooved to the music of DJ Malang.

Mr Mohsin Raza, renowned Cricketer and Chairman U.P. State Haz Committee presided over the Sports Function as the 'Chief Guest' and gave away prizes, tantalizing trophies and scintillating shields to the winners and runners up on closing ceremony on 1st March 2024. Mr.Raza asked students to contribute their crucial time in sports and make it a daily part of their lives.
Students from different streams participated in sports and games. Races, Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Long Jump, Table Tennis, Carrom, Shot-Put Throw, Chess and several other activities filled the grand playground of the college with charm and cheerfulness.

The objective of the conference was to initiate and facilitate the process through a day-long conclave that engages leaders in education in insightful discussions and deliberations on designing a student-centred learning experience. In the conclave, discussions by Expert Practitioners were held to demystify the importance of vocational education.
More than 125 principals of different schools/ colleges of Lucknow and nearby districts including faculty of SMS Lucknow participated in the conclave.
After the conference a hot lunch buffet was provided to all the delegates and participants. Finally the Principal and delegates were felicitated with the memento and gifts.
