Valuing the ‘Value based Education’

Humans are social beings that need to survive in society and values assist them in doing so. Human values are the generosity with which one person interacts with another by keeping in mind respect, affection, admiration, love, and many other things. Schools/Colleges are one of the most significant places where children spend most of their time in learning the majority of the skill either through the curriculum, teachers or peers. During ancient time, religion was extremely important in our society. As a result, the education system was heavily influenced by religion and people learned in Gurukuls or Ashrams. However, as time passed, a modern education system was implemented, and the concept of value and the methods for instilling it evolved as well. Students are only involved in the competitive run since the introduction of modern learning. They barely know about the social and moral values, how to live their lives, or get involved in activities that benefit the society. Introducing values-based education into classrooms produces a secure and strong learning environment that enhances academic accomplishment by instilling social and relationship skills that allow students to continue to grow. It assists them in determining what they will do their career and also develop an understanding about what is right or what is wrong. It broadens the student's knowledge in such a way that they can function well in society while keeping all of the society's norms and values in mind.

It instills in students a positive outlook on life and encourages them to become better human beings, to help those in need, to respect their community, and to become more responsible and reasonable. Everyone understands that life is valuable. However, if life is so valuable, the values that govern it should also have the equal important.
