Happiness and cheerfulness begins the moment you start doing something for others. Those people who over and over again help others, are happy, and contended do not come across any obstacles in their lives. Various researches and studies indicates that they are less worried and enjoy improved mental health
Remember the positive energy and cheerfulness you experienced, when you did something good for someone else. Doing things for others - whether it’s small or big, planned or unplanned regular or irregular - is a powerful way to boost our own happiness as well of those around us. The people we help may be family, friends, colleague’s strangers or neighbours. They can be young or old, from nearby or far away.
A recent study conducted at Florida State University investigated the difference between happiness and giving away. In a survey of over 300 participants, the researchers looked for traits and behaviors that were related to and vice versa. Little or larger acts of kindness towards other people,– such as volunteering in local community – can provide a sense of purpose and make one feel happier and satisfied about life.
Giving can take many forms, from small day to day acts to larger or formal commitments.
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
