The article goes on to state that logic isn't the only trait associated with left-brain dominance; there are other traits as well. Some are out of the ordinary. Left-brained persons, for example, are more likely to be dog lovers and listen to classical music. They can't be hypnotized either.
It's all about the thinkers on the left side of the brain. What about the rest of the human race?
Cognitive abilities, emotion, and intuitiveness are all linked to the right hemisphere. Right- brained persons are frequently left-handed since it also governs the left side of the body. Many jobs that involve creative thinking, perceptiveness, and spontaneity fall under the right-brain dominant category.
Left-brained thinking is often encouraged in schools over right-brained thinking, owing to left- brained pupils' superior logical and analytical abilities. Using metaphors, movement, and role- playing, right-brain centered curriculums emphasize on the visual and artistic. Right-brain dominant people are known for being good at art or sports, as well as being able to memorize phrases or lyrics quickly. They can be mesmerized as well.
Are we, however, completely one or the other? It made me feel better to learn that we aren't. A lot of what we think of as left or right brain function is actually done on both sides of the brain.
In other words, most people aren't wholly one or the other; they're usually a blend, with a slight predilection for one or the other side of the brain. That could explain why I am artistic and creative while also being an excellent language learner.
