Overview:


Bachelor of Computer Application (B.C.A.) is a three-year undergraduate program in the field of computer applications. It is a technical degree that prepares students for a career in the field of computer applications and software development.
The broad objective of the curriculum is to prepare the students for productive careers in the software industry/ academia by providing an outstanding environment for teaching and research in the core and emerging areas of the discipline. The thrust is on giving the students a thorough and sound background in theoretical and application-oriented subjects relevant to the latest computer software development. The emphasis is on the application of software technology to solve mathematical, computing, communications/networking, and commercial problems. This Bachelor's Degree has been designed with a semester approach in mind. The first-year courses are aimed at skills development in computers using various technologies, the second year is more focused on core courses providing a conceptual framework and the third year provides the specialization and the project work.


PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs):


PO1:
To develop skilled and professionally motivated technocrats, equipped with critical reasoning and ethical values that foster scientific temperament with a sense of social responsibility.
PO2:
To produce knowledgeable and competent human resources who are employable in all walks of life.
PO3:
To create, identify and implement appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools.
PO4:
To impart expertise required for planning, designing, and building complex software systems as well as provide support to automated systems.
PO5:
To build caliber to tackle personal and social challenges and improve the quality of life.


PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs):


After completing the program students will have:

PSO-1:
Ability to acquire knowledge in various computer science fields, and apply it in industry, entrepreneurship, and/or higher studies, for a thriving career.
PSO-2:
Understanding to incorporate knowledge of computing and technological advances appropriate to the program.
PSO-3:
Ability to develop software systems to enable the convenient use of the computing system and possess technical credentials.
PSO-4:
Ability to exercise the principles of management and strategic concepts required for teamwork as well as team management.

B.C.A. 1st to 3rd Year

Eligibility:


intermediate or equivalent examination with Mathematics/ Computer/ Information Technology/ Computer Applications/ Information Practices/ Computer Technology and Maintenance/ ITes as one of the subjects with at least 50% of marks for General / OBC (45% for SC & ST) based on the total marks of all subjects.
